Chocolate Santafereno

This is not just hot chocolate. it’s a warm, gooey hug in a mug. The combination of bittersweet chocolate and gooey cheese? Pure magic.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 2 ounces bittersweet or dark chocolate (85% cacao)

  • 1 pinch cinnamon

  • 1 pinch ground cloves

  • 1 (1-ounce) mozzarella cube

Directions

  1. Heat the Milk : Grab a small saucepan and pour in the whole milk. Set it on medium heat and let it go until it’s just about boiling, which should take about 3 to 4 minutes. Keep an eye on it; we don’t want it to overflow.

  2. Melt the Chocolate : Once the milk is hot, toss in the chocolate, cinnamon, and cloves. Whisk it together. Keep whisking until the chocolate melts and the milk heats through, which should take about 1 to 2 minutes. You want it smooth and combined.

  3. Pour and Add Cheese : Pour that rich, chocolaty goodness into your favorite mug. Drop in the mozzarella cube and let it sit for about a minute. You want that cheese to start melting.

  4. Serve : Grab a spoon and dig in while it’s hot. Enjoy the salty cheese and bittersweet chocolate together—trust me, it’s a match made in heaven.
